Our Data Sources
All data on City Stats comes from publicly available U.S. government datasets. We aggregate and present data from the following agencies:
- U.S. Census Bureau — Demographics, income, housing, and population data
- FBI Uniform Crime Reports — Crime statistics
- NOAA / NWS — Weather and climate data
- EPA — Air quality and environmental site data
- NCES — School and education data
- CMS / CDC — Health metrics and hospital data
- BLS — Employment and wage data
- HUD / FEMA — Housing and disaster data
- FAA / FHWA — Transportation infrastructure data
Our Approach
We believe in transparency and accuracy. Our data pipeline automatically processes raw government datasets and updates our profiles as new data becomes available. Where data is missing or suppressed by the source agency, we clearly indicate it rather than showing misleading values.
While we strive for accuracy, government datasets may contain errors or delays. We recommend verifying critical information with official sources before making major decisions.
